2/14/2010 - The Blue Heat was selected as REPEAT WINNERS for the prestigious Randy Rawls Sportsmanship Award voted by ODSL coaches across the division and referees for demonstrating the best sportsmanship during both, the 2009 Spring and Fall seasons. Being a repeat winner is extremely rare and each one of you should feel very proud of your individual contribution to this team award.
This award clearly represents character and the superb way each of you conducted yourself while always competing extremely hard from the first to last minute of the season.
Again, congratulations to the coaches, players and parents for this significant achievement!
11/15/09 - End of Season: I would like to recognize and congratulate each player for how you developed individually, and your contributions to the team this season. While at times it was challenging to overcome a few injures, each of you pulled together as the true champions you are and successfully met each challenge head on! In two short months, you have:
· Tremendously improved your individual and team skills through higher level training, competition and a lot of playing time
· Clearly demonstrated continuous improvement
· Bonded and improved as team by facing and overcoming challenges together
· Enjoyed successes with dignity and grace
· Developed new friendships (during and outside of soccer)
· Had fun and participated in many socials (ice skating, laser tag, DC United Game, International Horse Show, end of year party)
· Demonstrated superb sportsmanship (top rating)
Not only did you accomplish many goals on the soccer field, but also as important are your accomplishments outside of soccer too. As parents and coaches, we are very proud of each of you. Have a nice well-deserved break and will see you in the winter / spring.
Sincerely,
Coach Jay
10/24/09 - The Blue Heat team arrived in force to cheer on Lauren as she participated in the International Horse Show at the Verizon Center. Lauren placed 6th during the large horse equestrian competition. The team could not be prouder of Lauren and was honored to be part of this experience. Congrats Lauren for your special achievement!!!
10/17/09 - Congrats to the Blue Heat for being recognized at the DC United game as the Spring, 2009 Rand Rawles Sportsmanship Award winner. In addition to the halftime recognition, the team was provided the opportunity for a team picture with the MLS Trophy and carrying the US Flag on-field during the pre-game ceremony. Again, your parents and coaches are proud of your accomplishment.
10/12/09 - The team played extremely well this weekend at the VIP Tournament by just missing the championship game by a narrow 1-0 game. This accomplishment was achieved by overcoming injuries, sickness and limited subs. Without a doubt, this team has the most character and heart of any team I (Coach Jay) have been affiliated with. A big thank you goes to Madison for being our guest player. You were wonderful!!
8/31/09 - Professionally coached footskills and goalie training schedule is posted. These training clinics are free to PAC players. Please click the link for dates, times, and locations. <<Footskills and Goalie Training>
